I performed this song with my high school vocal ensemble last week at a choir contest, and we ended up with a superior rating. Singing alto part for this song was amazing. We get to perform it at the choir concert this up coming week and I am so excited.

We've done this work twice with The Occidental College Chorus....lucky to be a community member of said group....to augment the students singing therein. Also fun to play games with the lyrics in rehearsal....."Oh hush now my baby, and I don't mean maybe...." or....."The shark he will greet you, and then he will eat you...." (not authorized by our conductor....but sometimes the bass section can get a little crazy after a long rehearsal night.)

I first heard this played on Classic FM, and couldn't wait until the end to hear who wrote it. The music is totally sublime, it actually brings tears to my eyes when I hear it., reminding me so much of the sea, and waves rolling in and out. Truly awesome.
